This rail ismachined from the highest quality aircraft grade hardened aluminum yetit only weighs 13 ounces (including the threaded ring, barrel nut, andindexing pins)! The high strength and low weight of this remarkablehandguard contributed greatly to its adoption by the United States Armyfor the Squad Designated Marksman Rifle program.

The DanielDefense 12.0 rail system helped deploying Army units issue a squadlevel precision rilfe that bridges the gap between infantry riflemanand a battalion level sniper asset.

The 12.0 handguard wasdesigned to work with the AR15 riflelength gas system. It will alsowork with the carbine or the midlength gas system with a milled gasblock that will fit under the handguard.

Rails are 1913Mil-Spec and are 100% checked for conformity. Every rail comes witheither ladders or panels which are made from santoprene, which canhandle heat up to 350 degrees.
